• Stored in Chrome's local storage

• Only sent to respective API providers (Perplexity.ai and WhoisXMLAPI.com)

2. Analysis History

• SEO analysis results from pages you've analyzed
• Stored locally in Chrome's storage
• Never uploaded to external servers

3. User Preferences

• Extension settings
• Stored locally only

🔧 How We Use Information

The extension uses your data to:

1. Analyze Web Pages: Examine the current page's SEO elements (title, meta tags, headings, etc.)
2. Check Rankings: Search Google for your keywords and determine page rankings
3. Domain Information: Fetch WHOIS and DNS data using your WhoisXML API key
4. AI Insights: Generate SEO recommendations using your Perplexity AI API key
5. Save History: Store your analysis results locally for future reference

APIs Used

Our extension connects to the following third-party services only when you use specific features:

1. Perplexity AI (https://www.perplexity.ai)

• Used for: AI-powered SEO recommendations
• Your API key is sent to Perplexity's servers
• Subject to Perplexity's Privacy Policy

2. WhoisXML API (https://whoisxmlapi.com)

• Used for: Domain WHOIS and registration data
• Your API key is sent to WhoisXML's servers
• Subject to WhoisXML's Privacy Policy

3. Google DNS (https://dns.google)

• Used for: DNS record lookups
• Public API, no authentication required

• Used for: Keyword ranking checks
• Extension searches Google on your behalf

🔐 Permissions Explained

Required Permissions

1. activeTab

• Why: To analyze the SEO elements of the page you're viewing
• What it does: Allows reading page content (title, meta tags, headings, etc.)

2. scripting

• Why: To inject content scripts for page analysis
• What it does: Enables extraction of SEO data from web pages

3. storage

• Why: To save your API keys, settings, and analysis history locally
• What it does: Stores data in Chrome's local storage (on your device only)

4. notifications (optional)

• Why: To notify you when analysis is complete
• What it does: Shows browser notifications

5. contextMenus (optional)

• Why: To add quick-access SEO tools to right-click menu
• What it does: Adds context menu options

Host Permissions

• Google domains (google.com, google.co.uk, etc.)
  • Why: To perform keyword ranking checks
  • What it does: Allows searching Google and extracting search results

🛡️ Data Security

Local Storage

• All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage API
• API keys are stored in Chrome's local storage (not sync storage)
• Data is isolated per Chrome profile

No External Storage

• We do not operate any servers
• We do not have a database
• We cannot access your data

👤 Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

1. View Data: All data is stored locally in Chrome's storage
2. Delete Data:
   • Clear API keys via API Settings
   • Clear history via History modal
   • Uninstall extension to remove all data
3. Export Data: Not applicable (all data is already on your device)

⏰ Data Retention

• Data is retained indefinitely in Chrome's local storage
• Data is automatically deleted when you:
  • Clear the extension data
  • Uninstall the extension
  • Clear Chrome's browsing data (if you select "Extensions")

👶 Children's Privacy

Our extension is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

🔄 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
